I'm not particularly proud of it, but one of my favorite Johnny Cash songs is "Jackson." I must sing it more than I realize because I've caught Aidan singing his own version of the song several times. Tonight the boys were in the shower and I heard him singing away(a habit for him.) He has also inherited from me the art of making up his own words to songs. I am well known for this skill and I think Aidan will follow in my footsteps(poor thing)! The song says "We got married in a fever, hotter than a pepper sprout, we've been talking 'bout Jackson ever since the fire went out" Aidan sings "We got married in a BEAVER, married(sometimes he say born) in a BRUSSEL SPROUT, we've been talking Jackson every since we thought about, we're going to Jackson. I am particulary impressed with his southern accent through the song. Enoy!

Audible Smiles
Quinn is so funny. She smiles so big, but has not really had a real laugh. She kind of makes this cry, talk, fuss, noise with a smile on her face. We're still not sure if she's laughing or crying? She's still coming into her own and trying to figure out which of these "audible smiles" will work best for her. Trying them all out! Aidan can normally get her "laughing" the best, but Todd had her pretty happy this night. If you are curious about Aidan in the background asking to see the new website, it's a pine wood derby website that Todd found. Aidan is joining boy scouts and although we've yet to have our first meeting, he and Todd are deep in the planning process of the BEST pine wood derby car Germantown boys scouts have ever seen. I'm not sure who is more excited, Aidan or Todd!

Drenched
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, so I put Canon in the stroller and strapped Quinn into the carrier and off we went to pick up Aidan from school. We got to the school and waited and as we were waiting I watched the clouds roll in. The second Aidan walked out the doors it was a full downpour. As they say in the south, "The sky opened up!" Aidan had an umbrella and his great buddy Malena had an umbrella, so they shared and I tried to hold one over Quinn and I and push Canon in the stroller at the same time. It was so cute to watch Quinn, I thought she would have been screaming, but she was just fascinated with it. She kept looking at me with those big eyes. Always an adventure, even when we're not expecting it. Needless to say, we got home safely and we were all soaked head to toe.

"RAY ME!"
In Canon language that means, "Hurray for me!" On Sunday Canon got interested in using his potty and when I say interested it was almost ridiculous! Not kidding, (I have Aidan for backup) Canon went to the bathroom about 30 times in 1 hour. We might need to get him checked out? He would get so excited each time and clap his hands and say "RAY ME!" It was so funny. He had Aidan and I both in hysterics. Here are a few of the G-rated pictures from his potty extravaganza!

Sitting in the Bumbo
A new place to sit! I pulled Canon's old Bumbo out and put Quinn in it just to see how she liked it....she LOVED it. She folded over a couple of times, but other than that sat it in and smiled. When I did take her out, Canon hopped in it. Still my baby! I asked him if he wanted me to take his picture, "Yes, mommy!" Then after each picture I took "Ana see"(I want to see) What a ham!

A visit from Nina
It was a great surprise to have Linda in town. The boys are so amused with her singing and playing. It was a short visit, but a great one. Quinn gave her a few great smiles and we enjoyed planning the dress she's going to make Quinn for Christmas! (It's just around the corner!) Always fun to have family around.

Sunflowers
Every year we are blessed with hundreds of sunflowers blooming at Shelby Farms. This year, we were blessed to have a little girl to put in them! They are so amazing and it was so much fun to have Quinn out in them. She was looking at them and actually trying to grab at them some as well.

Then we decided to try and get a group picture. Quinn and Aidan were fully cooperative. Someone else, not so much. (hmm....I wonder who?) I tried everything, but he was not interested in sitting still at all. Then he decided to get in the picture in his own Canon-way. Yes, that's Aidan under him! Look at the grin on him. He is a self-proclaimed "dilly doose" silly goose. They're always finding new ways to make us laugh and think to ourselves, how lucky are we?
