Meeting Grandpa(and his Wii)

While in Florida, Quinn got a chance to meet Grandpa for the first time and the boys got to play his Wii. Aidan is hooked. He loved the Mario cart game, (you can tell I'm not well versed in video games:) Although I did enjoy being beat by Aidan in bowling! It was a great time getting to see Dad and Janet.

A day at the beach

While home in Florida we had to hit the beach.....so "mymom" packed up all the gear and we walked down with her and aunt Erica. We had a good time building sandcastles and Aidan went in the ocean. Canon was a little hesitant about the whole thing. He wasn't sure about being dirty or water moving at him, but he warmed up to it. Quinn was content just hanging out with her hat on....

If you are wondering about the sunglasses, it's not the new fashion, it's just Canon. He will ONLY wear them upside-down. You should try it, all the cool kids are doing it. :)

I FLY!

We did it.....Grace, Aidan, Canon, Quinn, and I flew to Florida. It was Quinn's first time on a plane and Canon's first time realizing he was on a plane. We did really well on the way down. Quinn slept, Canon sat still and mostly quiet, and of course Aidan was wonderful. Canon was so excited he kept saying, "I FLY!" The way home was not as peaceful, but it got us home. Here are a few self portrait mommy-cam snapshots of them.

2 months old!

I used to get so frustrated when I was a teenager and adults would say, "Slow down life goes too fast" or "It seems like just yesterday....." Well, here I am saying, "It seems like just yesterday she was born and here we are at the 2 month mark!" She is a delight and the perfect addition to our family. It is amazing to me how different every child is and how quickly you can see their personalities starting to form. Quinn now weighs 11 lbs. 13 oz., is 23 inches long, and had to get shots........so sad, but she did great. She has slept through the night on a couple different occassions, and has for the past 2 nights. (Now, if we can get Canon to do the same.) She is easy going and very visual. She smiles readily especially when she has just woken up. She has 2 brothers who are constantly loving on her, so she is very tough. We have loved every minute of the past 2 months and are excited for what lies ahead.

Downtown with YaYas Grace

Sadly, I write this morning that Aunt Grace is going home. Although we get a bonus week with her, because we are going too! Canon lovingly refers to Grace as Yayas. Not sure where that came from, it's his own language really. We had to take Grace down to Beale Street and to walk around downtown while she was here. We had fun walking around and exploring, but were exhausted after a day of finishing the fence and working in the yard. So we grabbed some dinner and played a few arcade games and headed home. We love you Aunt Yayas!Sleeping Beauty!

We met quite possibly the nicest fireman as we were walking by the fire station. He let the boys climb in the truck and start it up. They had the lights going and Aidan even did the siren! Canon was quite excited(and a little scared) to get on the babas(firetruck in Canon diction).

Old man Todd

Todd is 30! He loves that he is 6 months younger than me and has always loved teasing me about it. Well, I'm still older, but he's finally old! We had a tiny celebration at home and then went out to dinner. He had a great birthday vacation last week visiting Ashley and Chris in California(thanks guys!) and playing a ton of golf and having an absolute blast. They got to play Pebble Beach! It was a once in a lifetime trip for a once in a lifetime birthday. We love you old man!
8 weeks old on Daddy's birthday
1,560 weeks(and not too happy about it!)

The Date

Don't fall over when I tell you this, but Todd and I got to go on a date! An actual date! It was so much fun and so quiet. Grace watched the kiddos and we went out and had a quiet dinner for Todd's birthday. It was so much fun and made us realize that we need to do that more often. We wouldn't have the beautiful family that we do without each other. We are blessed!
