Getting into the Game

Aidan got a new Wii game from Nina and Pots on their visit this weekend. It's Lego Star Wars, 2 of his most favorite things. Our Wii rule is that he has to read for as long as he wants to play, so last night he finished a 160 page book. This is him "spending" some of those minutes on his new game. (My favorite is the tongue action!) He was so into it, he didn't even realize I was video taping him. Oh, and the jumping he is doing is not really "doing" anything!

A day at the park

I went to bed last night with every intention on getting up, taking the kids to church, and then going to earn the geology belt loop with cub scouts. 3:00 am my plans were changed, and yes, it was Canon who once again changed them. He woke up with fever and so I gave him so tylenol and sent him back to bed. When he finally rolled out of bed at 10:00 am(this has NEVER happened) his cheeks were red and splotchy. I've seen and heard of Fifths Disease, but Aidan never had it. Leave it to Canon! So we stayed home....he's not contagious(according to webmd) and feels fine, but looks like something is wrong with him. We braved a ride in the stroller and up to the library and park. It is gorgeus outside and we have to take advantage of it now because it will be too hot too soon. We had a good time playing. Quinn loves to swing and the boys climbed a ton. We came home with 2 sleeping babies, a stroller full of books, and a few pictures.

Just another manic monday.......

The past month we have had VERY busy Mondays. Aidan has been taking swimming before his regular cub scout meetings so we rush home, rush to finish homework, rush to swimming, rush to eat something, rush to cub scouts, and rush home once again to rush baths and bed time....this Monday we don't have swimming or cub scouts! I am going to try my best not to rush anything tomorrow! :-) In fact I hope to eliminate the words, hurry up, from my vocabulary, I feel as if we are always in a hurry and so tomorrow with nothing to do, it will be the perfect start to my new pledge. (I have a feeling that pledge won't last long!) Here are a few of Aidan at his last swimming lesson and cub scouts last week. He did amazing at swimming, he's got a perfect backstroke according to his instructor and I told him I would give him a dollar if he did a head first dive, you should have seen how good he did. For a month all we saw were belly flops and for a dollar, I had a dive! He did great!
Canon and Quinn on the sidelines at swimming...
After swimming we went to cub scouts, which Aidan LOVES! This particular evening they were learning the all important task of making a marshmallow shooter. The boys had so much fun making these and even more fun having a marshmallow war in the dark on the field. (Chris and Ashley....when I saw them making these, I thought Young Life! If you want the instructions, they are really easy...)

Easter Pictures

Sundays are weird for us....Todd works all day so it's not really a "weekend" day for us.  So Saturday night we got bombarded by the Easter bunny!  He dropped over 100 eggs in our living room and left 3 Easter baskets for Aidan, Canon, and Quinn.  Early Sunday morning we were up and hunting eggs before Todd left for work.  Then I loaded up the kids and we went to church.  We came home had lunch and I saw a storm coming in.  I loaded them up in the car and took them over to these gardens nearby to get some pictures before the rain.  These gardens have amazing azaleas this time of year.  Let me just tell you....I am SO glad Todd and I went into Wedding Photography, because getting 3 kids to look at you is....well....it's impossible!  So after my great attempt, and a little downpour, we came back home to a lazy afternoon around the house.  On a side note....it has been really storming and sweet Aidan looked at me and said, "Mom, I think we should pray for Daddy to get home safely because it is really stormy outside!"  What a boy!  Hope you are all safe and having a Happy Easter!

The Easter Dress

My very good friend, Jane, helped me smock and sew Quinn's Christmas dress.  I smocked it, she sewed it!  I decided that I was going to smock and sew Quinn's Easter dress and force myself to learn to do it on my own.  About 6 weeks ago, I went to the local smocking shop and came out with a bag full of fabric and thread.  I dutifully went to class on Thursday nights(thank you Todd!) and I think it all paid off.  I am one proud mama.  I picked the dress with an embroidered cross on it, because that is what Easter is all about....it was such a sweet and meaningful pattern, that it was a joy to make for Quinn.  The lady who designed it says it so perfectly....."making a gift for someone is an expression of love, a giving of one's self....I could think of no better message of love than the symbol that stands for love-The Cross.  What better gift could we receive than the love of God through His Son Jesus".  Happy Easter!  Here are a few of Quinn and THE DRESS!

Hope's Easter Egg Hunt

Last Saturday, we went to our Church's Easter Egg Hunt/Festival.  The kids had such a good time doing all the activities they had there.  The weather was great and it was a fun outing for us.  They had soccer fields FULL of eggs and the kids didn't really have to hunt eggs, but just not get run over getting them!  I think Canon thought it was Halloween because he had the basket and people kept putting candy in it.  Hard for a 2 year old to keep all the holidays straight!

Just being silly......

We have had quite a week. It started last Sunday with Canon in big boy pants. He was doing okay, he really LOVES his diaper. Then early Tuesday Canon and I got to ride in an ambulance to the hospital. He had croup and was having a very hard time breathing. We got him better and so we stayed close to home the rest of the week. While home Canon and Quinn can always find something to climb, get into, etc....Quinn in the cabinets, Canon and Quinn inside the stools(I still haven't figured out how Quinn got in there, I think a little help from big brother???), and I put Canon on the big boy potty, went to get a book, and came back to both of them on the potty! Just being silly....

Due Date Ice Cream

We are a family who is ALWAYS looking for an excuse to have dessert! So every year, we celebrate the kiddos due dates with ice cream. Here is Quinn's Due Date ice cream extravaganza!

The Cake....

and the last of the birthday pictures.....sorry to bombard you with them! Quinn is an eater! She was ready to dive into that cake the minute it was set in front of her. She was covered head to toe....really. She still has a faint smell of icing of her...several baths later!

Can't you just hear her saying "Hiiii!"?"SO BIG!" (and so messy!)

Opening Presents...well half of them

Here's sweet girl opening presents. She actually got into it. She is definitely the younger sister of 2 brothers. She plays with trucks and transformers mostly. She got her 1st baby doll and immediately hugged and loved it. So sweet! She is also a true Fleming...got her first camera and knew EXACTLY what to do with that! Say cheese.....
