Snow Day....for real

We are off school today for another snow day, although this time it decided to really snow. We didn't hesitate this time, we put on our jackets and went out, before it was gone! I truly would never last in a cold climate....I stood in the garage and went out for a pictures and then had to come back in....the cold seems to not affect the kiddos, but i still have my jacket on inside!

She is always dirty, but hates when she gets stuff on her hands or shoes.....I thought we were gonna have a meltdown, but she was too happy to be outside!
There is almost always at least one tongue out when they are all together....
Or two.....

Catching snow....it was more like ice falling.....COLD!!!!
If Aidan does it, Canon will.....
And Quinn is soon to follow....

Then our neighbor came out with a sled!!!!! Really? I mean there was maybe an inch on the ground, but the kids had a blast pulling each other around.

And snow angels are a must......

We then came inside for hot chocolate.....and a nap!

Laughing....Daily

Daily is wrong, it's more like hourly, no, every 5 minutes! These kiddos can take a bad day and make you smile and laugh...out loud! Let me preface these pictures....not normally would I put pictures of our toilet on the internet....NEVER in a million years, but Todd and I laughed so hard the other night, we had to share.

Now with 2 boys in the house, it's not odd for me to lift up the seat (yes, they do put them down!) and find "something"....gross I know. But the other night Todd and I watched a movie and were heading up to bed. I went into the bathroom and lifted the seat to "something" so I went to flush, without thinking and as I bent down I saw that the "something" had a smiley face on it!!!!!! I started laughing so hard Todd came up to see what was going on. We of course knew it was Canon (the potato was Aidan's from a science lab at school, they had drawn faces on potatoes) Todd and I then started to laugh and make comments. Maybe not as funny to you, but we were rolling!

On the way to church the next morning we asked the boys if they knew how the potato got in the toilet and Canon gladly and quickly fessed up...."It was me!" With his sweet grin......

Canon and Quinn

Canon we don't wrestle our sister, Quinn we don't hit our brother....often words out of my mouth. But Friday as we walked out of school they did this.....on their own!

And it melted my heart!

The Making of a Harry Potter Birthday

Aidan's birthday is approaching and he has decided he wants a Harry Potter sleepover. I have been looking for a full week for invitations, we've gone to every local party shop and haven't found anything. There were some online, but we decided to get creative. Here we are making Harry Potter invitations.....
Super Creative Daddy burning the edges for the "antiqued" look.....
Aidan tea-staining the letters.....

They are official letters welcoming the boys into Hogwart's School.......
and the kids being silly

Quinn loves nothing more than a good Twinkle Twinkle and Aidan started taking piano and he is playing 4 different variations of Twinkle so we are officially Twinkle obsessed in this house right now!

A Warm Day....

Last week we actually had nice weather... Canon was begging for a ride in the stroller and since it was in the 50's I loaded him and Quinn in to go feed the ducks. It was great to get out! We fed the ducks, (whose pond was still half ice from the freeze the week before), blew some bubbles, and then ran to pick up Aidan at school. They slept so well that night, there really is nothing better than the great outdoors!

Monster Nation

All I can say is it was an experience. Todd called and said he heard on the radio that there was a monster truck show. I got on it and found us a deal on tickets and we were off to Monster Nation. If you have never been to a monster truck show, you can probably hear! They were the loudest things I have heard in a long time, so after buying ear plugs and holding kids ears all night, Todd and I were tired!....Really it was so much fun. I really liked the motorcycles, they were crazy making amazing jumps. I threatened both boys, they will NEVER be allowed to ride motorcycles :) Aidan was very quiet at first I think he was overwhelmed by all the noise. Later he said, "I've had a LOT of surprises, but this was the best one!" Very cute! Canon was totally into it the minute we walked in, he was pointing at them and yelling stuff at the trucks the whole time....LOVED it. And I don't recommend taking anyone as young as Quinn, but she did amazing. She was never scared, didn't cry and liked watching the trucks and motorcycles too. It was a fun family night!

Every time the motorcycles would jump Canon would squint his eyes or bend down, it was really cute!

baby its cold outside

Well it was REALLY cold last week. We're talking in the teens! This Florida girl can't handle that. We bundled up, stayed inside as much as possible, and tried our best to stay warm
It "snowed" and we're using that term loosely. The kids got out of school for the day for this.....

Which gave us a good excuse to open ALL of the craft kits we got for Christmas. I am still cleaning glitter off the floor a week later!

It is warming up this week though and we are glad!
